The
Nutrition Group: Recipe and Nutritional Analysis
"You are what you eat!" our mothers
admonished us when we were teens filling up on
fast food fries and hamburgers. They knew high-fat
fries and burgers offered poor nutrition. However,
it isn't always so easy to determine how
"good" or "bad" food is for
us. How do you really know that what you're eating
contains the right nutrients for you? Your typical
diet may not be as nutritious, or as
non-nutritious, as you think.
That is the reason our Registered Dietitians
perform computer analyses of diets. Simply keep
track of what you eat and drink for at least three
typical days, (including a Saturday or Sunday.)
Bring this food diary* to us, and we will evaluate
your diet, examining both macro-nutrients and
micro-nutrients. We will analyze your diet for
amounts of:
-
Fat
- Sodium
- Calories
- Cholesterol
- Carbohydrates
- Vitamins
-
Minerals
- Sugar
-
Protein

We
then will give you a comprehensive report
containing our findings and our recommendations
for improving your diet. Our recommendations will
be based upon your medical condition(s), age,
lifestyle, and other needs. For example, we may
suggest you eat certain foods to increase your
iron level or to decrease your sodium intake.
After following our reasonable recommendations,
you will be able to manage your health condition(s),
increase your energy levels, and/or enhance your
athletic performance. (*For information on keeping
a food diary, please see the "Online
Nutrition Consulting" page.) |
